This album always makes me feel better if I’m feeling a bit shit or down. Its pretty damn magnificent.
Sidenote: it was also the first LP I ever bought and it sparked my love for vinyl :)
Thanks Tom!
Thanks to @SashaBirnie for thinking of and implementing it! http://chipmunkmilsom.bandcamp.com/ Aha. Aha. Ahahaha.
You’ve likely heard this already, but the Explorers 6 vinyl is SOLD OUT
That’s right, folks, all 500 copies have been purchased and distributed!
If you don’t own a copy, do not despair. You can still buy the album digitally, and believe you me, it’s worth whatever price you put on it.
It’s so strange to think that, like the cards, all of those albums were once collected together in one place. They were just a homogenous stack, then, of art unshared — and what good does that do anyone? Now each one has been through its own journey, through different post-offices and different hands, until it came to rest in your mailbox or on your porch (and ultimately in your record player). Each one is a different experience, now. And yet, somehow, miraculously, they’re still all part of one whole collective experience. No matter where it ended up, one thing remains the same: the thread from Tom’s frantic finger to yours. A web of threads unbreakable trailing from a room in England around corners and lightposts, across oceans and highways, spidering over landscapes and the curvature of the earth. Art shared. There isn’t much in life more incredible than that.

noangles asked: Has there been any attempt/project aimed at finding lyrics/phrases from the album that correlate with what's drawn/written on the cards? (That was a lot of slashes, sorry.) If not, that'd be really cool to do...
Not that I know of, and I haven’t tried (yet). From my experience of archiving the cards, it seems that there’s a set of recurring themes that they revolve around — but not a specific narrative that I can see. And none have reminded me of any particular lyric. But one of the most intriguing parts about Tom’s artistry is that he creates connections no one else seems capable of, so who knows how intertwined the whole thing is? It’d be interesting to explore, for sure…
Make that… 77
Keep ‘em comin’, folks — We’ve got a ways to go
I’m so happy with our progress!
Two new cards have been added to our list in the past 48 hours — How cool is THAT?!
and
This brings our total up to 76! :D
NEW FEATURE: I added a “Browse” link on the main page so you can scroll through the cards posts without having to click them one by one on the Numerical List. You can choose how you’d like to see them :)
And as always, if you are lucky enough to have one of Tom’s hand-drawn index cards from the Explorers 6 series… Don’t be shy — SUBMIT IT

EXPLORERS 6 YAY (Taken with instagram)
So instead of packing for Amsterdam (I’m going to Amsterdam tomorrow. I may have forgotten to tell…..everyone.) I decided to sit and listen to Tom Milsom’s album for the eleventeenth time and draw accordingly.
If you aren’t aware of this guy and/or that he released a new album here’s a quick review:
It good. Go listen.
(and then give him lots of money and support and loveliness.)

This was done a while ago, and I can’t believe I haven’t reblogged it yet
It’s amazing! :D
